Atlanta Technology Angels Elects Bernice Dixon Board Chairman
(Atlanta, GA) January 10, 2013
Atlanta Technology Angels (ATA) today announced it has elected board member Bernice Dixon to the position of chairman of its board of directors. Ms. Dixon succeeds Mike Eckert, who stepped down as chairman on January 8.
Previously a top executive at corporations including Hewlett-Packard, Raytheon and Carrier Corporation, Ms Dixon has focused professionally on angel investing since 2010. She is the founder and CEO of investment advisory firm Advising Angels, and has been a highly active participant in ATA activities and initiatives.
“I want to thank Mike for the exceptional job he has done to grow and professionalize the ATA over the last two years,” said Ms. Dixon.
“With over 130 angel investor members, ATA is the largest group of its kind in the Southeast and one of the top 10 in the United States in both number of investments and dollar value. In the last two years, the ATA made investments in 29 companies.”
After leading the ATA to significant growth for two years Mr. Eckert announced in 2012 his plans to step down from the chairman position.
“I look forward to working with ATA leadership and to continuing to leverage our strength for the benefit of our members and Atlanta’s entrepreneurial community as we head into a promising new year,” added Ms. Dixon.
